APC was contracted to plan and manage the complete communications and productivity tools deployment at this new Glencore facility in 2015. The objective was to model the underground environment as closely as possible, using the same communications infrastructure and the same systems that have been deployed at many other Glencore operations.
APC designed and implemented an IP and Wireless network through the facility, a control room, then instrumented a truck, loader, locomotive and hoist to simulate the flow of ore through an underground mine. APC deployed Pyrite for people flow, and provided visualisation of personnel inside the facility. Finally, APC deployed V-Store for Flow of Material optimisation from the Buffer Store inside the mine. All these systems were installed and functional within six months of commencement.
